Environmental protection is key to our future and the future of our children. We Pennsylvanian’s must fight for our Department of Environmental Protection to be adequately staffed and funded so that enforcement is consistent. We must insist that acidic mine water not drain into our pristine streams which feed our river right here in the 44th District. Assuring that permits for facilities that have already been issued are followed accurately and that new permits are fairly written to protect our health and well-being, will fall to Pennsylvania’s General Assembly if the EPA continues to erode our vital regulations at the national level. We here in this area should remain steadfast in our fight for cleaner air, water, and surroundings so that our verdant state will live on for future generations.
